Account setup to help with funeral services for girl, 15, shot to death in Orange

ORANGE — A gofundme account has been set up to help a mother bury her 15-year-old daughter and unborn child that was shot to death in Orange last week.

The account is listed under Support Paris Williams After Tragic Loss.

Aleigha Lewis died Oct. 20 at Fox Run Apartments, 2600 Allie Payne Road.

Police were called to the apartments just before 6 p.m. in reference to a shooting. While there they learned that a 15-year-old female had sustained a gunshot wound and was deceased, according to information from OPD. Other juveniles from the scene were identified and cooperating. Due to the incident involving juveniles whose names are not being released.

Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Chad Jenkins arrived on scene and ordered an autopsy to be completed.

Lewis’ family is calling her death a murder. A spokesperson for OPD was asked if the case is being investigated as a homicide. The response was that every death OPD investigates is investigated as a homicide until proven different.

An autopsy has been performed on the victim but police are waiting on preliminary results.

Police cannot yet release information on whether the shooting happened inside an apartment or if it occurred outside such as in the parking lot or a vehicle.

Likewise, police cannot release information where they have any suspects/persons of interest or any arrests made, according to the spokesperson.

The case is ongoing and is being investigated by the City of Orange Criminal Investigation Division.

Loved ones are helping the family by holding fundraisers as Williams grieves her daughter and continues to be a mother to her two other daughters, according to fundraiser information.

There will also be a balloon released at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 at 2600 Allie Payne Road, Orange. Organizers are requesting that purple and black balloons be brought.
