Five local baseball players have been named to the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Teams.

Four Orangefield Bobcats, one Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bear and one Vidor Pirate earned the prestigious honor for their performance over the 2024 season.

Orangefield’s Kane Smith earned a 3A First-Team outfield selection.

Fellow Bobcat Caleb Fregia tied with another shortstop for 3A All-State Second Team honors.

Orangefield pitcher Brycen Tait and outfielder Logan Cheek each earned 3A Honorable Mention selections.

In the 4A category, Little Cypress-Mauriceville first baseman Marco Bandiero was also an Honorable Mention.

Finally, Vidor shortstop Austin Cadroy received a 4A Honorable Mention nod.
