4 injured in Orange shooting

ORANGE — Four people were injured in a shooting in Orange Monday.

The City of Orange Police Department was dispatched to the area of 2nd Street and Schley Avenue at 6:35 p.m. in reference to shots fired.

While searching the area they learned through dispatch that a gunshot victim had arrived at Exceptional Emergency Center, according to information from Sergeant Isaac Henry III with the Orange Police Department.

Police learned a total of four people with gunshot wounds were at the medical facility. The shooting is said to have occurred in the 200 block of Morrell Boulevard.

One victim was treated and released from Exceptional Emergency Center.

Two victims were transported by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. One victim of which is in recovery and the other is in critical condition.

A fourth victim was transported by medical helicopter to Houston. That victim has since been treated and released.

The investigation is ongoing and nothing further can be released at this time, Henry said.
