Local Land Judging Team earns familiar challenge with state contest appearance

ORANGEFIELD — The Orangefield FFA Land Judging Team traveled to Sam Houston State University to compete in the Area IX CDEs.
After a successful day of competition, Ethan Welch earned first place individual with a score of 231 out of a possible 300 points.
Blaine Lenard placed fifth place individual with a 198.
Colt Longron (146) and Emily Walters (140) rounded out the team that helped get second place in Area IX and first place in District.
This marks the third straight state contest appearance for the Land Judging team.
The State Land Judging Contest is April 24-25 in Stephenville.
