Greater Orange Area Literacy Services plans adult spelling bee fundraiser

Greater Orange Area Literacy Services, or GOALS, is preparing for its annual fundraiser, the adult spelling bee, the nonprofit is looking for participants!
A spelling team is made up of three people. The entry fee is a $350 donation, and lunch is included.
Anyone may participate. If you are not able to get a team together, organizers would greatly appreciate any donation.
GOALS was established 31 years ago to address the literacy needs in the area.
“We offer free one-on-one tutoring in reading, GED preparation and English as a second language,” a release states. “Money raised will fund student materials, GED test scholarships, and operational expenses. If you have helped or entered in the past, WE APPRECIATE YOU!”

The Goals Spelling Bee is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26 at Lamar State College Orange student center gym.
The deadline for a team donation is April 14.
