Those in Southeast Texas can expect to see easterly winds increase today and even more so Thursday into Friday.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Donald Jones said while breezy conditions are expected inland, winds will be highest along the coast and offshore where gusts of 40+ MPH and waves of up to 12 feet are expected.
“Precipitation chances continue to increase Friday night and through the day Saturday,” Jones said.
“Severe weather isn’t expected, but periods of heavy rainfall could lead to some nuisance flooding of secondary roadways.”
The good news is most of the precipitation looks to be clear of the area by Sunday morning, so at least part of the weekend may be salvaged, according to Jones.
