From the Superintendent
LCM Family,
I hope you are enjoying your summer days with fun activities and relaxation!
We continue to plan for the 2020-21 school year with a mindset of social distancing and preparedness for unidentified situations. The LCM Board of Trustees adopted a modified calendar on Monday night to “build in” possible make-up days for school closures, if needed, next year.
We are also preparing a parent survey to get your input on how we can continue to improve our instructional program. As we faced a sudden and long-term school closure with COVID-19 we would like to know what worked for you, what didn’t, and how we can best meet your child’s needs in face-to-face or online instruction for the 20-21 school year.
We continue to work closely with both state and local authorities in preparing for the 20-21 school year. Guidance from The Texas Education Agency (TEA)is expected soon which will better equip us in creating solid plans that meet required mandates.
We are asking for your patience as we prepare for new requirements and expectations from TEA. We are working daily to prepare for the new year and will release information to you once a finalized plan is in place.
Thank you for all you are doing! Words do not express how much we look forward to our students returning to school, seeing their friends, participating in activities, and getting back as much “normalcy” as the requirements allow!
I wish you a wonderful few weeks of summer!
Stacey Brister, Superintendent
