Lady Mustangs down LC-M, await playoffs

WEST ORANGE – The playoff-bound West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs wrapped up the regular season with a 50-42 District 22-4A victory over the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears Tuesday night.
Lady Mustang B’Jne Arvie was simply too much inside for the Lady Bears as she powered her way to a game-high 26 points to pace the Lady Mustangs (18-12, 7-5). Gabby Tims contributed eight points for the Lad Mustangs while Marlandria Hebert had seven points and Keshaunia Winbush added six.
Guard Chelsea Perry led the Lady Bears (14-13, 3-9) with 15 points and nine rebounds. Zaria Johnson tallied seven points while Brittany Wyatt added six.
The Lady Mustangs will play Beaumont Legacy Christian at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Mustang Gym in a warmup game before the playoffs start next week.
The Bridge City Lady Cardinals (17-15, 3-9) wrapped up their season with a 55-29 loss to Lumberton (23-11, 9-3).
