ORANGEFIELD — Remaining on a torrid tear, the Orangefield Bobcats moved to a perfect 3-0 on the young District 22-4A baseball season by clobbering the Silsbee Tigers 8-2 at Bobcat Field Tuesday night.
The Bobcats (14-2-1 on the season), grabbed a run in the bottom of the second, scoring on a Gunner Jones’ RBI single. Jones went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Orangefield tacked on four more runs in the bottom half of the third as Johnny Armstrong, Brett Fregia, Blake Bradley and Kadeon Evans each drove in runs in the inning.
Bradley had a solid outing on the mound for the Bobcats as he worked all seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out seven Tigers (0-3 in district) and walking just one.
Corbin Johnson started for Silsbee as he allowed six hits and eight runs over 4 1/3 innings of work.
The Bobcats will try to have a repeat performance when they head to Silsbee to face the Tigers Thursday.
