ORANGE — So many groups and people from out of town have blessed Orange County with their generosity from making delicious meals and handing out cleaning supplies from across the country.
One such group was Ardent Services, LLC out of Baton Rouge.
Ardent Services has had a Hurricane Harvey Recovery Support location at the Orange VFW Post 2775 on 16th Street heading towards Little Cypress for three days.
“We’re just blessed to be able to help folks out that are in a tough situation right now,” said Nathan Gulino. “We’ve been cooking up a ton of food. To be able to see tired people get a good hot meal brings us such enormous satisfaction. We’re here to help folks bounce back and give them energy to push forward.”
Gulino totally understands the plight of the folks in Orange County.
“We dealt with the huge flood that belted our area in Louisiana last year,” said Gulino. “There was a lot of devastation for sure with that, but here, it was a lot worse.”
On Wednesday for lunch Ardent served up sausage Po-boys and chips and for supper they had smoked chicken, ribs, baked beans and potato salad.
On Thursday they had ham, egg and cheese breakfast burritos. At lunch they served pulled pork sandwiches, smoked sausage, cole slaw and chips and for supper they will had pork, chicken and sausage pastalaya.
On Friday morning starting at 9 a.m. they will have ham, egg and cheese breakfast burritos.
As of Wednesday through early lunch Thursday, they had served 3,200 plates to the community.
“We’re just so happy that our company allows us to do this and we can pay it forward,” said Gulino. “We’ve seen folks carrying a lot of emotions with them the last couple days but we see plenty of tough spirit that goes along with it. We’ve been able to meet a lot of great people along the way and met some new friends for life. This area will bounce back strong, especially after meeting the people here, they are strong.”
