Vidor students taken to hospital for over-the-counter cold medication

PRESS RELEASE — An incident occurred on the Vidor Junior High campus this morning, sending several students to an area hospital. Eighth grade female students brought an over-the-counter cold medication to school, which they shared with other female students.
Ambulances were called to VJHS when students went to the nurse with vomiting. Parents were contacted. Seven students were taken to the hospital.
The matter was handled according to appropriate school guidelines. Vidor ISD will further investigate the situation to ensure the continued safety of our students.
