Third annual Debutante Cotillion scheduled for Saturday

The Orange Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will present its 3rd Annual Debutante Cotillion, ‘Girls in Pearls” on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. This semi-formal event will take place at Mount Olive Christian Life Center, 106 W. Park Ave. in Orange, Texas.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is the single largest African-American women’s private non-profit organization in the country whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities and throughout the world. For over 15 years, the Orange (TX) Alumnae Chapter has awarded scholarships to deserving High School seniors in the Orange County area.
Poise, charm and intellect are three fitting words to describe the 4 young ladies who are awaiting their debut into society. The public is invited to attend. Admission is $25.Tickets may be purchased from members of Orange Alumnae Chapter or any cotillion participant.
This year’s coterie of debutantes have dedicated hours to community service, volunteering at the Nursing Home and Family Reading Night at West Orange Elementary. The debutantes have also participated in the sessions on Self-Esteem, College Preparedness and Physical and Mental Health. Other activities for this year’s program included Etiquette Training, Father Daughter Dinner, and a Mother/Daughter Tea.
Each of the debutantes demonstrates academic excellence, strong morals, values and outstanding service to the community.

Debutante Christy Eve Carrier, the daughter of Charlette Green, is a senior at West Brook Senior High School. Her escort is John Comeaux, son of Monica Richard and John Comeaux.
Debutante Kennedy Elise Jones, the daughter of Kimberly and Felix Jones Jr., is a senior at West Brook High School. She is escorted by Cedric Lee, son of Brandi Jones and Cedric Lee.
Debutante E’Laziah Da’Jonique Nickerson, daughter of Felicla Nickerson and Marcus Broughton, is a senior at West Orange- Stark High School. She is escorted by is Tyshon Watkins, son of Christal Julian.
Debutante Briara Nichole Rogers, the daughter of Chasity and Earlton Rogers Sr., is a senior at West Orange-Stark High School. She is escorted by Keion Hancock, son of April Hancock.
Debutante Alexcia Da’Shun Tezeno, the daughter of Tiffany and Tyrone Brown, is a senior at West Orange- Stark High School. She is escorted by Jalen Powdrill, son of Felicia and Quintin Powdrill.
