Special to The Leader
It was an exciting day at Vidor Rotary Club’s Monday meeting as they honored Vidor ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jay Killgo as their Pillar of the Community for December. Also honored were six students as Students of the Month.
Brandie Hackney was also recognized as Student of the Month.
The students were presented a certificate, had a book donated to the green bus in their honor, and were awarded a $10 Sonic card by the Vidor Chamber of Commerce. They are the last of the honorees for 2016. Vidor Rotary Club honors Students of the Month each month of the school year, recognized fifty or more young people each year. The students are chosen by their teachers and principals. In addition, a Pillar of the Community is recognized each month for outstanding contributions to the Vidor community.
