A student faces disciplinary actions after a BB gun was found in his possession at Little Cypress Junior High on Tuesday.

In a statement released by Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, A student at Little Cypress Junior High brought a small unloaded BB gun to school this morning in his backpack. It was retrieved early in the morning.

A BB gun is not classified as a firearm under Federal Law; therefore no legal charges were brought against the student. However, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville District has assigned consequences to the student according to the student code of conduct.
