GOP Incumbent and newly re-elected Dade Phelan, who serves the Orange County, Texas, Congressional area, conversed with Anne Payne of Orange on Election Day’s DAR Veteran’s Day Tribute at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Port Neches, Texas.  Sponsors of the event were Daughters of the American Revolution members from the mid-county area.  Payne is a member of the Orange DAR, William Diamond Chapter, transferring from Cimarron Chapter in Stillwater, OK.  Other DAR members present from Orange were Katy Latolais, Lois Ferrell, Sylvia Bland, Jackie Huckabay, and Penny Wyatt.  Payne and Phelan have mutual acquaintances from Msgr. Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont, Texas, Phelan’s alma mater, and Payne’s former employer.  Payne is also a member of the Oklahoma chapters of the Daughters of the Confederacy and the National Society of the Daughters of the Union, the National League of Women Voters, the Service League of Orange, Golden K Kiwanis, the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Orange County Friends, and the Orange County Historical Society.
