Motorcyclist Killed on FM 2802 in Orange County

PRESS RELEASE — On August 3, 2016, at approximately 11:00p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was notified of a motorcycle crash on FM 2802 in Orange County. The crash occurred approximately three miles South of Vidor.
A 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on FM 2802 when it struck a black cow in the roadway.
The driver, Robert George Cahill, 48, of Vidor, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Robby Eaves. Cahill was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The cow also died at the crash scene.
This is an ongoing crash investigation and there are no further details to be released.
