Gabriel Prejean

Gabriel Prejean, 83, of Vinton, Louisiana, passed away on January 15, 2020.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 20, at Claybar Funeral Home, in Orange. Officiating will be Minister Paul Masters. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Mowata, Louisiana, on November 1, 1936, he was the son of John S. Prejean and Elmire (Richard) Prejean. Gabriel worked for many years as a carpenter for DuPont in Orange. He was a faithful member of West Orange Church of Christ where he enjoyed attending and reading his bible. Gabriel was a true outdoors man who could always be found wood working, fishing, or hunting. He had many family and friends and loved being able to keep up with everyone through Facebook. Gabriel loved his family dearly and his memory will live on through those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his children, Jimmy Lynn Prejean and Debra Ann Prejean.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Janice Prejean; son, William Phillips of Beaumont; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and his sister, Bernadine Savoy of Crowley Louisiana.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Garrie, Eric Phillips, Jimmy Prejean II, Brandon Prejean, Kevin Phillips, and Jerry Neugent.
