Marjolet benefit on Saturday

A benefit will be held this Saturday for a local woman recovering a medical condition.

A benefit fundraiser will be held for Theresa Marjolet from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, at Cotton’s Cay, located at 8379 State Highway 87 in Orange. The event will feature live music, barbecue lunch plates for $8 with leg quarter, link, potato salad and baked beans, or a link on a bun with chips for $4.

Theresa lost sight in her right eye after a mass had been detected on her pituitary gland. A surgery was performed after she began losing sight in her left eye and was unsuccessful, but a second surgery did prove beneficial. However, she will be recovering at home for six to eight weeks and is in need of assistance with mounting medical costs.

Also part of the benefit will be an auction, 50/50 scratch offs, and $2 raffle tickets for a barbecue pit, a cedar cooler with a Texas star, and a Kindle Fire.

Call Nancy Brown at 409-920-5429 or Peggy Hernandez at 409-313-4151 for more information.
