Anite Hebert Lemaire

 

Anite Hebert Lemaire, 100, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 26, 2018, in Orange.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2018, at St. Mary’s Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Joseph P. Daleo. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Kaplan, Louisiana, on October 21, 1917, she was the daughter of Avnair Hebert and Theoza Bertrand. Anite was a faithful member of St. Mary’s church where she was involved in the St. Mary’s Alter Society and in the choir. She loved gardening, making wine, was an excellent cook and was known for her fig tarts. Anite was an outstanding seamstress, making costumes for Ingram School of Dance and spent time with her friends quilting and playing dominoes. She will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Lemaire; sons, Kenneth Lemaire and infant Ronald Lemaire; and sister, Yvette Frederick.

She is survived by her son, Patrick Lemaire and wife Connie; daughter, Elaine Cook and husband Mark; grandchildren, Julie Smith and husband Kirk, Suzy Wimberley and husband Jim, Lisa Francis and husband Marc, Steven Lemaire, Christine Lemaire, Jacob Cook and wife Angelique and Casey Cook; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Wimberley, Dalton Wimberley, Steven Lemaire, Jacob Cook, T.K. Smith and Dillon Smith.
