Former Vidor ISD employee charged in aggravated kidnapping of girl, 12

VIDOR — A former Vidor Independent School District police officer was arrested Tuesday for allegedly picking up and transporting a 12-year-old girl to Lake Charles and back.

Ethan Majors, 23, of Vidor is being held in the Orange County Jail on a charge of aggravated kidnapping, according to Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll.

Vidor police were notified of an individual picking up and bringing the girl to Lake Charles Nov. 17. The child was returned to her home the same morning.

On Tuesday, VPD executed an arrest warrant on Majors.

Bond has not been set as of Tuesday afternoon.

Vidor ISD made an announcement on social media on Nov. 21 saying they are aware of an ongoing investigation by Vidor police involving a former district employee.

“Vidor ISD will fully cooperate with the Vidor Police Department and provide any information necessary to assist in their investigation,” according to the social media post.
