Normally at about this time, we would be preparing to head into Major League Baseball’s All-Star break. Of course, there won’t be one this year, and the abbreviated 60 game season doesn’t even start until July 23.
Here in Texas the State Fair of Texas is the latest victim of COVID. Big Tex won’t be saying “howdy” until at least 2021 as the 2020 fair goes on hiatus.
And just to drive home the point – on Tuesday, July 7, the state of Texas for the first time recorded over 10,000 new coronavirus cases in ONE day. New York and Florida are the only other states to record more than 10,000 new cases in a single day.
It all sounds pretty bleak, but there is good reason to have hope this July.
The Alzheimer’s Association International Conference® (AAIC®) will still be held online as international investigators, clinicians and care researchers come together to discuss the latest studies, theories and discoveries that will help bring the world closer to breakthroughs in dementia science.
Originally scheduled to be held in Amsterdam, COVID put a stop to travel for AAIC 2020, but the internet will still hold the meetings from July 27 – 31.
The Alzheimer’s Association International Conference® is the largest and most influential international meeting dedicated to advancing dementia science. Each year, AAIC® convenes the world’s leading basic science and clinical researchers, next-generation investigators, clinicians and the care research community to share research discoveries that’ll lead to methods of prevention and treatment and improvements in the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.
