Vidor woman indicted for meth possession

Megan Fountain, 33, of Vidor, was indicted by the Jefferson County Grand jury on Wednesday for an incident which occurred in May 2019 in Beaumont.

Beaumont police officers were assisting the comptroller’s office with a tax seizure located at 1610 Interstate 10 in Beaumont when they saw two persons smoking a cigarette within the five feet of the front door of a business, a violation of Beaumont city ordinance.

When the officers spoke with both of them, they were found to have outstanding warrants and were both placed under arrest.

While searching Fountain’s purse, the officer found a pink handbag containing a needle with a brownish liquid and a small bag with two crystal rock like substances. The man with her was also found to have glass pipe and a baggie with residue of a white crystal type substance. Both were charged with possession.

The suspected methamphetamine weighed approximately 3.2 grams.

Indictment is not be considered as evidence of guilt and that all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
