Orange County and City officials monitoring the disturbance

PRESS RELEASE – Orange County and City officials are monitoring the current disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico.
While there is still considerable uncertainty to the exact timing, magnitude and location threatened by the system, we would like to take this time to encourage our citizens to be prepared.
• All citizens are encouraged to register for the Southeast Texas Alerting Network at www.thestan.com
*Review your plans in the event an evacuation becomes necessary.
*Make sure you have bottled water and non-perishable food at last 3-5 days.
*Make supply kit containing a radio, flashlight, extra batteries, prescriptions and other medications, extra clothing, cell phone and chargers.
*Keep a list of important documents and family heirlooms and have them readily available to go.
*Make sure to monitor the local weather stations, as well as, NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center.
As a precaution Orange County has sand and bags at the following locations. Residents are welcome to bag the sand, bring your own shovel.
Precinct 1 Maintenance barn located on North Hwy 87 at North Teal 11897
State Hwy 62 in Mauriceville directly across from Market Basket on Hwy 62
Precinct 3 County Maintenance barn located on 2502 West Roundbunch Road
Precinct 4 County Maintenance barn located on 375 Claiborne Street
