To the Leader
The Lutcher Theater hosts a dog food drive April 12 benefiting the Humane Society of Southeast Texas in celebration of the four shows featuring dogs during the 2018-2019 season including The Wizard of Oz, A Christmas Story – The Musical, Legally Blonde, and Finding Neverland.
Patrons attending Finding Neverland, April 12 can participate in the drive by bringing Hill’s Science Diet, Pedigree or Purina dog food or gift cards to the show. Community members can drop off donations, April 12 starting at 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Lutcher Theater office.
The Humane Society of Southeast Texas is a Hill’s Food, Shelter, and Love Program partner. All dogs at the shelter are only fed Hill’s Science Diet food, and the HSST donates Pedigree and Purina food to community members in need of food for their family pet.
Gift cards to local supermarkets including Walmart, HEB, and Target are a great way to make a donation that allows the Humane Society of Southeast Texas to purchase dog food when supplies are low as well as specialty care items that some animals need.
The Humane Society of Southeast Texas operates solely on the support from the community without any funds from the government. The organization has served the area since 1962 with the belief that all pets are priceless. The HSST provides care to rescue animals from the time they enter the facility until the moment they find their forever home providing food, shelter, daily care, and a variety of veterinary procedures.
Volunteers are always welcome at the Humane Society of Southeast Texas. Visit the humanesocietyofsoutheasttexas.org/ to learn more about opportunities to get involved.
