STARKVILLE, Miss — Former Bridge City softball standout pitcher Kassidy Wilbur has already started her run as a Stephen F. Austin Lady Jack with some flair as the freshman nabbed her first collegiate win Friday morning as the Lady Jacks downed Valparaiso 6-2 in the Mississippi State Tournament.
Wilbur went the full seven innings on the hill, scattering five hits while striking out 15 and walking one. Both runs were unearned.
She also went 1-for-4 at the plate with a RBI.
Wilbur was the MVP of the All-Orange Leader Softball Team the last four years and was the Leader Female Athlete of the Year after her junior and senior campaigns.
