Leo Floyd (Lefty) Miller, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior January 2, 2019, at Mustang Creek Estates in Frisco, TX. Floyd was born November 8, 1932 and spent most of his life in Mauriceville, Texas. He attended Mauriceville High School, where in the late 40’s was a standout basketball player. Floyd was born to Gail and Alma Miller, lifelong residents of Mauriceville. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Prior to discharge, he accepted a position at Texaco in Port Arthur, where he spent his entire career. He retired to Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he spent his time fishing and boating. Floyd spent his last 3 years in the care of his daughter in North Texas.
Floyd was preceded in death by his mother and father, 3 of his brothers, Raymond, Wayne and Jackie Miller and 2 sisters, Velma Klipstein and Maxine Tankersley.
Floyd leaves behind his beloved daughter, Sharon Snyder and her husband Jack of Whitesboro, TX and his son, Leo Floyd (Bubba) Miller Jr. of Buna, TX; Three grandsons David Shaun Swearingen, Cristopher Miller & wife, Tiffany and Zachary Reese Miller; along with 2 precious great-grandsons, Bryce and Landon Miller. He also leaves one brother, L.G. Miller of Orangefield and one sister, Melba of Hurst, TX and a countless number of nieces and nephews.
Floyd’s family members were near and dear to him and he considered all of them his greatest blessings in life.
Floyd’s remains will be cremated by Merit Memorial Funeral and Cremation Care of Farmers Branch, TX. There will be a memorial service set later in the year in his home of Mauriceville, TX and a burial at his family plot with his parents!
