Special Angels Rodeo
Special Angels Rodeo will be at T2 Arena & Event Center located at 3810 Old Peveto Road in Orange.
Open House
Thrift and Gift will hold an Open House from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Racks and tables of selected items can be found at reduced prices. The BARGAIN ROOM has new donations. Again, we want to thank our wonderful and generous donors. Watch for our sign on Strickland Drive and 37th Street (between Salvation Army and Sabine Credit Union). Wesley Methodist Church, across from us, will have its Christmas Bazaar beginning at 9 a.m. Call 886-77649 for additional information.
Keep Orange Clean
The Litter Squad will cleanup different locations throughout the city on the second Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. Locations will be determined and posted so that all groups and citizens are aware of and encouraged to attend. Please bring gloves and wear appropriate attire.
Veterans Day Fly-In
Orange County RD Club (OCRCC) is having its annual Veterans Day Fly-In from 9 a.m. till about 2 p.m. As always admission to our Fly-Ins is free. Concessions are available. In addition, any Military Veterans attending will be treated to a free lunch. The club airfield is located at 10623 FM 1442 in Orange County. The airfield is located approximately one mile south of Interstate 10.
St. Helen Annual Holiday Market
St. Helen Annual Holiday Market is Open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 8105 Farm to Market Road 1442 in Orange. Great vendors on hand for Christmas gifts or gifts for yourself!
Parenting Class
Wells of Agape is holding a Parenting Class from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Life Church Orange located at 18389 Hwy. 62 in Orange. (Near the Hwy. 62 and Hwy. 105 intersection). Lunch is provided. The requirement to receive a Certificate of Completion is $30 per person, cash only. One must attend from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to receive the certificate. Gumbo Cook-off
The Third Annual Gumbo Cook-off is from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion. In celebration of Veterans Day, the event will begin at 1 p.m. with the Presentation of Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, and recognition of veterans according to the various military branches served. The event will include live entertainment by Clay Cormier and the Highway Boys beginning at 2 p.m. and Gyth Rigdon beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Gumbo Cook-off is free to the public.

Veterans Day Program
St. Mary Catholic School cordially invites ALL Veterans to be honored at our Annual Veterans Day Program. It will be held at the school on 2600 Bob Hall Road in Orange at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 12th. We will have a guest speaker, Victor Rincon, then roll call for all Veterans in attendance. Please join us to be honored and recognized.
OC Retired Teachers meeting
The next meeting of OCRT will be held Monday, November 12, 2018, at 10:30 am. We will meet at the Cormier Orangefield Museum, 9974 FM 105, Orangefield, TX. It is on the right, just past the intersection of FM 105 and FM 408. The museum is marked by an oil derrick to catch your eye. We will have a brief business meeting and will tour this interesting museum, which features the history of Orangefield and the Orange County area. Afterward, we will move to K-Dan’s for lunch. Please join us. Guests are welcome.
Veterans invited to LCM HS
Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School will host a Veteran’s Day assembly in the Dr. Pauline Hargrove Gym (The Grove) at 2:25 p.m. All veterans are invited to attend as our special guests. Veterans are asked to arrive at 2 p.m. and may come directly to the gym. Once all the students are seated we will open the assembly with the seating of our special Veteran guests. The assembly will conclude at 2:45 p.m. Those with questions should call LCM High School at 886-5821.

Bridge City Chamber of Commerce will host Networking Coffee at 8 a.m. at Bridge City Bank located at 701 West Roundbunch Road in Bridge City.
OC Christian Writers Guild meeting
The Orange County Christian Writers Guild is meeting from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. At the upcoming meeting, we will be returning to the Guilds writing project. We are collectively writing a short story, murder mystery. If you would like to participate, we would love to have you. Our Speaker last month was Penny Lulex. She spoke about participating in a screen playwriting contest and came in 2nd place. It was inspiring and encouraging. She also shared several pertinent Web sites. We will also be discussing the upcoming contest the Guild is hosting. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the City of Orange Neighborhood Facility Community Room, located at 303 N. 8th Street, Orange, Texas. Please call 409 988-2588 for any questions. Golden K Kiwanis meeting
Fallon Foster of the AgriLife Group off FM 1442, Head Country Agent for Orange County, will speak to Golden K Kiwanis on upcoming events with her agents. Golden K Kiwanis meetings are held each Wednesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Building Meeting Room, corner of MLK and Strickland, across from the Shell and a fire station. The mission of Golden K Kiwanis is children.

Thursday, Nov. 15
GOCC-EDC Business Exchange
The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce and Orange County Economic Development Corporation Business Exchange will be held from 8 a.m.-9:30 a.m. at the Shahan Event Center at Lamar State College-Orange. Gain access to the enormous buying power of schools, cities, counties, and non-profit organizations. For GOACC members it is free and for non-members, it is $10. Altar Society Gift Shop and Luncheon
You are cordially invited to the Altar Society Gift Shop and Luncheon at Saint Mary Catholic Church Parish Hall on 912 West Cherry in Orange from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be homemade baked and canned goods, crafts, Christmas gifts, frozen entrees, jewelry, silent auction including gift baskets, team logo teddy bears and more. There will be a smoked chicken luncheon for $8 (half a chicken, potato salad, beans, dessert, and tea) that will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Meal tickets can be purchased at the door. Take-out is available and containers are furnished.
