After a meet and greet with the four presidential candidates for Lamar State College Orange, the educational institution held a renaming ceremony. The building once named The Cypress Center is now the J. Michael and Bridget Shahan Events Center. During his 24 years as President of LSC-O, Dr. Shahan made $47 million in improvements to the school. During the ceremony, he said he salutes those who have worked and those who have retired from there as they are the true heart and soul of the facility.
