Body of Lake Charles man found on shoulder of I-10 near Sulphur

Lake Charles, LA – Today, Tuesday, June 26 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to I-10 westbound near the mile marker 20 after receiving a call from Louisiana State Police. Upon arrival, deputies located John Michael Deville, 68, Lake Charles, deceased near his truck, a maroon Dodge Ram.
The initial investigation does indicate foul play.
Deputies are asking if anyone observed Deville on the side of the interstate this morning, knows someone or saw someone with Deville, or provided a ride to a person hitchhiking or walking near I-10 or Highway 90 this morning, please contact Lt. Beth McGee at 491-3605 immediately.
A dark green Jeep was stolen from a residence in the vicinity of the incident this morning. It is believed to be stolen by a white male wearing a fluorescent orange or yellow shirt. This may or may not be related; however, if someone has any information regarding this Jeep or this white male, please contact Lt. Beth McGee at 491-3605 immediately.
