Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Wednesday he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $710.4 million in local sales tax allocations for June, 11 percent more than in June 2017. These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.

Almost every city in Orange County saw a significant increase in sales tax revenue for this payment compared to the payment at this time last year.

The city of Pinehurst saw the one decrease across the county with 9.98-percent less than last year when comparing $64,185.45 for 2017 and $57,775.01 for 2018. However, for year to date payments last year at this time at $314,211.03 compared to $358,501.65 for 2018, Pinehurst is showing an overall increase of 14.09-percent for the year.

West Orange showed the smallest increase of less than a percent for this payment but for year to date, the entity is showing an 11.05-percent increase from 2017 year to date payments.

Bridge City showed the second largest increase in payments compared to the same payment last year with 53.88-percent more. Over all for year to date, the city has received 32.20-percent more this year than last year.

Pine Forest had the largest increase with 58.58-percent more for this payment compared to last year.

Orange County also sees an increase for this payment of $459,053.81 compared to $373,347.81 for the same payment last year, a 22.62-percent increase. For year to date, the county has received 30.82-percent more than year to date in 2017.
