M/Sgt. Joseph Batise Buquet

M/Sgt. Joseph Batise Buquet, 94, widower of Nora T. Buquet, of Beaufort, SC, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm at Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 10:30am in St. Peter’s Catholic Church with interment in Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Buquet was born on December 29, 1922 in Houma, LA. He is the son of the late Joseph Alfred Buquet and Marie Lucretia Lirette Buquet.
He served our country in the U S Marine Corps where he fought during WWII in numerous Pacific Island battles. He retired after 20 years in the Marine Corps, then became a highly valued member of the United States Postal Service for the next 20+ years. He loved to garden and fish and was a meticulous record keeper for all of his activities. Surviving are four sons, Johnny, Terry, Billy and Bryan Buquet; two daughters, Darlene Higgins and Diane Soloman; two sisters, Audrey Reves and Ethel Armetta; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust.
Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
