While Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar dispersed $787.8 million in local sales tax allocations for May, 2.6 percent more than in May 2016, Orange County saw an increase in sales tax revenue.

“The cities of Irving, Round Rock, Dallas, San Antonio and Odessa saw noticeable increases in sales tax allocations,” Hegar said. “The cities of McAllen and Sugar Land saw noticeable decreases.”

The county, in April, saw a 22.15 percent in year to date revenues. For the current payment, the county saw an increase of 11.14 percent over the same payment last year and is now behind by 15.54 percent in year to date in sales tax revenues.

The City of Pinehurst also showed an increase in sales tax revenue with a payment of $57,321.38 this month compared to a $56,174.56 payment the same month last year. The city is still behind by 10.18 percent in year to date payments.

The city of Orange continues to show an increase in sales tax revenues. A payment of $483,762.75 this month compared to $397,728.33 last year for the same month is a 27.39 percent increase in sales tax revenues. Year to date sales tax revenues show an increase of 16.14 percent for the city.

Pine Forest continues to show a significant increase from this time last year with a 93.80 percent increase in sales tax revenues for this month compared to the same month in 2016. Currently, year to date the city shows a 64.99 percent increase since last year for the same period.
