Orange man arrested on drug charges on Easter

Police in Pinehurst arrest a 23 year-old Orange man on drug charges Easter Sunday.
Dreshun Tyre Joseph, 23, of Orange was arrested Sunday after a traffic stop in Pinehurst. Officer Kevin Norton stopped Joseph for a traffic violation in the area of E. Martin Street and Strickland Drive shortly after 11am Sunday April 16th, 2017 while working a criminal interdiction assignment in a press release from Pinehurst Police.
Once stopped, Officer Norton conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. Upon his search this is when Officer Norton located a substance what was suspected to be marijuana. Joseph was then placed in custody and an inventory search of the vehicle was completed. This is when officers found two hand guns, one that was reported stolen, contraband and large amount of U.S. Currency.
According to Pinehurst Police, Joseph was arrested on the state jail charges, which carries up to two years in state jail and a $10,000 fine if convicted. This case is part of ongoing drug distribution cases being handled by PineHurst Police and Orange County Precinct 2 David Cagle.
