Time changes for Black History Parade set for Saturday

This year’s Black History Parade is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. and will start at St. James Baptist Church on 15th Street in Orange, (the old school administration building) and will conclude at Mt. Zion B.C. with a short program to follow. Staging for the event will begin at 1 p.m.
“I respectfully extent this invitation to you and the ministry you serve to be represented with a decorative car, truck, trailer or float,” Demetrius Moffett, president of the NAACP, wrote in a press release. “If nothing else come out and ride your bike, get your steps in for the day. Let’s make a powerful show of unity.”
A final organizational meeting for this year’s Parade will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday during the NAACP meeting held at WOCCISD Administration Building located at 902 West Park Ave. in Orange. All are encouraged to attend and join. The Grand Marshall will be announced during the meeting.
