At approximately 2:45 p.m. Saturday, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a one vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Adams Bayou in Orange County.

A 2003 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer towing an oversized load was traveling westbound on Interstate 10.  The coupling device on the vehicle snapped causing the trailer to become dislodged.  The piece of equipment (Dredger) that was on the trailer fell off the trailer and rolled down the grass embankment.  The piece of equipment came to rest on the westbound service road.

The driver of the Freightliner, 49-year-old John Adams of Alabama, was not injured in the crash.

Adams was issued a traffic citation for defective equipment.
