A new splash pad located in Navy Park at 511 Morrell Blvd. in Orange was the center of attention for young and old during a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Tuesday. The new improvement of the park features seven self-activated spray features. The water will follow two patterns before needing to be reactivated by the swipe of a hand at a special sensor. The funding for the pad was provided through Community Development Block Grants and the City of Orange. Director of Planning and Community Development Kelvin Knauf said this was the first f many park improvements the city has planned. The splash pad will be open from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily through September 30. It will operate from May 1- Sept. 30 each year.
