Lady Bobcats pummel Anahuac

ORANGEFIELD — The Lady Bobcats jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as Orangefield coasted to a 58-16 district win over the visiting Anahuac Lady Panthers.
The Lady Bobcats used a fast start to claim a 22-3 lead at the end of the first period courtesy of the hot shooting of Mikayla Locke and Addi Moore. Locke scored 11 points in the first period, while Moore added 7 points. Both players led all scorers as they finished with 15 points each for the game.
Orangefield continued to scored basket after basket as the Lady Bobcats extended the lead to 32-9 at halftime as Rebecca Durbin scored 5 points during the period.
The Lady Bobcats opened the third period by scoring 18 consecutive points, which included 8 points by Brooklyn Wagoner, on the way to a 50-12 lead at the end of the period before sealing the victory in the fourth as Moore contributed her final 4 points of the night.
Orangefield improves to 5-1 in District 18-3A play as teams near the midway point of district play. The Lady Bobcats will host the Hardin Lady Hornets on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
