There are increasing rain chances for this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

“Given last week’s heavy rain and ongoing river flooding, there may be some concerns about the impacts of any additional rainfall across the area,” a release stated.

“The good news is that rain this weekend should not pose any additional problems on area rivers. However, there is the possibility that some storms could produce heavy rainfall leading to localized flooding.”

The Weather Service is monitoring the situation as it evolves and will provide updates should conditions warrant.
From Saturday morning through Monday morning:

General rain amounts are expected to be between 1⁄2 to 1 inch, but locally higher totals above 2 inches are possible.

There is a 30 to 50 percent chance of 48-hour rain amounts exceeding 2 inches across portions of Southeast Texas.

There is a 10 to 30 percent chance of 48-hour rain amounts exceeding 2 inches across lower Southeast Texas and central Louisiana.

Minor to moderate flooding continues on the lower Neches, the Sabine and the Calcasieu Rivers. Additional rainfall may lead to a short-term rise in water levels, but at this time, no significant rises or increased impacts are expected.
