BRIDGE CITY — Orange County ESD 2 is the recipient of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant.
The grant to Orange County emergency Services District 2/Bridge City Fire and Rescue totals $22,043.80 and helps ensure local first responders have the necessary equipment to keep community members and themselves safe.
The grant is going to be used to buy an Autopulse External Defibrillator, thus fulfilling a critical need within the department, according to Chief Richard Bodin.
“On behalf of the department and its members, I want to thank the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Port Arthur, Texas for recognizing our needs and awarding funding to provide this equipment,” Bodin said. “Providing first responders with the right tools is crucial for them to successfully do their jobs.”
The new Autopulse External Defibrillator is going to be used to provide high quality CPR to a patient without
interruption, giving the patient a higher survival rate.
Having the appropriate tools on hand makes all
the difference in allowing first responders to effectively serve their communities and save lives, according to information from Bodin.
