BRIDGE CITY — A police pursuit from Bridge City that ended with a crash and two fleeing suspects is prompting law enforcement to seek the public’s help.
Bridge City Police Captain Richard Teague said early Sunday morning officers attempted to stop a black Dodge Charger for speeding, but the vehicle instead traveled toward Port Arthur.
Once in Jefferson County, the Charger took the Taft Avenue exit, entering the City of Groves, then wrecked near the intersection of 32nd Street and East Parkway.
According to information from the Groves Police Department, the suspects, described as two white males, were last seen on foot running east towards 32nd Street and North Drive.
Teague said the Charger was stolen from Orange County, though it had not been reported stolen at the time of the chase.
Police do not know the identities of the two suspects, and the case remains under investigation, Teague said.
People in the area of the crash are asked to check their cameras for approximately 4:25 a.m. Sunday and contact Teague at 409-474-3183 if they have any video showing the suspects.
