A diverse group joined together for their love of the performing arts is hosting Unity Fest 2020 from 6:390 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. on Saturday June 27 at it’s new home located at 3330 Bowling Lane in Orange.
While the event is an outdoor event, participants can stay in their car or bring lawn chairs to sit outside and are asked to maintain social distancing to minimize the spread of the coronavirus.
The day is design for people to have fun while meeting new people while learning something deeper about each other’s identity. Learning to embrace the community’s diverse culture as it unites.
“Diversity is a whole that is greater than the parts, which include race, ethnic origin, and color, religion and creed, language, sexual orientation, gender presentation, philosophy, values, age and ability, to name a few,” a flyer for the event reads.
Community leaders are scheduled to speak, as well as local talent will perform.
The event is also seeking speakers according to a press release, “We would love to have you speak at this event to encourage the Orange population as well as began rebuilding ties that may have severed by events transpiring in other parts of the country!”
Celebrate our differences as well as common interests and join in Unity Fest.
As the event is observing COVID-19 restrictions, attendees are asked to wear face masks, and disposable gloves if possible. The event is set up to foster an environment that allows for social distancing during the event. The event length is maximum three hours to reduce prolonged interactions.
