On Wednesday, May 27th, at 10 a.m., the West Orange-Stark High School will host a drive-through celebration for Honor Graduates and NHS to receive their stoles. A press release with additional information is attached.

WOSHS Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 6 p.m. located in the Dan R. Hooks Stadium and Leroy D. Breedlove Field.

COVID-19 has affected our daily interactions, including the celebration of our 2020 graduates. Even though the celebration may have changed, the accomplishments are no less important. Graduation guidelines were set based on TEA requirements for social distancing. Please read the instructions below carefully. Any changes concerning these instructions will be announced on social media, district websites, and at the time of the ceremony.

Greetings Mustang Family,
COVID-19 has affected our daily interactions, including the celebration of our 2020 graduates. Even though the celebration may have changed, the accomplishments are no less important. Graduation guidelines were set based on TEA requirements for social distancing. Please read the instructions below carefully. Any changes concerning these instructions will be announced on social media, district websites, and at the time of the ceremony.
Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. located in the Dan R. Hooks Stadium and Leroy D. Breedlove Field.
Guest Arrival
1. Seats will be limited; therefore, each graduate will be allowed seven tickets each.
2. Guests should park and enter from either the Home or Away side of the stadium. Both entrances will be open and accessible to all guests.
3. Prior to entering the stadium, all guests will complete a health screening protocol, including temperature checks as well as health questions.
4. Due to TEA guidelines, at no time will congregating in the parking lot be allowed before or after the ceremony, and social distancing guidelines will be enforced.
5. Seats will be marked at minimum 6ft apart, and sections will be closed once 25% capacity is reached. Families are encouraged to sit together but are asked to allow space for social distancing from other parties who are not in immediate families.
6. To avoid entrance congestion, guests will enter following the below timeline based on your graduate’s last name:4:15 Graduates A-F
5:00 Graduates G-O
5:30 Graduates P-Z*If you have a guest in need of special accommodations, please contact the high school office to see how we can best accommodate no later than June 3.
Graduates Arrival for Ceremony
1. Due to TEA guidelines, practice is prohibited. Therefore, students are required to arrive early to watch a pre-recorded instructional video detailing ceremony instructions and guidance.
2. Graduates should enter the front foyer of the main building wearing graduation attire no later than 5:15 p.m. Doors will open promptly at 4:15 p.m.
3. Graduates will be asked about health inspection questions, and temperatures will be checked prior to entering the building.
4. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and there should be no groups congregating outside of the building.
5. Bathroom access will be for toiletry use only. Therefore, hair, makeup, and clothing attire should be completed prior to arrival.
6. Once inside, students will follow further instructions to ensure social distancing and the safety of everyone in the building. Any student who fails to comply with staff instructions will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Following Ceremony
1. Graduates will be provided instructions on how to exit on the day of the ceremony. At no time will graduates be allowed to assemble on the field or meet families within the stands.
2. Guests will be directed to exit by rows beginning from bottom up to limit social contact with other guests. Staff members will be placed throughout the stands to ensure guest safety and provide support and direction when needed.
3. All exit instructions were established to ensure best practice for social distancing guidelines based on TEA requirements and commissioner rules. These guidelines will be announced prior to and following the graduation ceremony. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure guidelines are followed as directed from all staff members. Any guest or graduate who does not follow
guidelines will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony and asked to leave immediately.
Miscellaneous Information
– Please be sure to arrive at designated times and follow all directions provided by staff.
– Changes to these procedures may occur. Be patient with others and staff as we attempt to deliver graduation as traditional as allowed. TEA guidelines and Texas Commissioner.

Guidelines will be enforced at all times.
– Gifts, including flowers, cards, or balloons, will not be permitted in the stadium.
– Facemasks and gloves are welcomed to be used by graduates and their guests.
– Handwashing stations will be provided for your convenience. Bathrooms will have limited access and sanitized frequently for your safety.
– Avoid congregating before, during, or after to ensure safety.
