Donald G. Brown, along with his husband, Daniel K. Spencer, were found guilty, on Monday, of recklessly causing bodily injury to a child, a state jail felony.
The two self-surrendered in April 2018 after a warrant was issued for their arrest.
Brown was the sole Democratic candidate for Orange County Judge in 2018. He officially his name from the ballot on April 26 after being indicted for felony charges of injury to a child. If he had remained on the ballot, he would have faced Dean Crooks in the November election that year.
Sentencing is set for 9:30 a.m. on May 7. While they are eligible for probation, they could be sentenced up to two years in state jail.
