CCS’ Patel, Menard off to roaring tennis start

Back to back TAPPS 1A State boys doubles champions Rahul Patel and James Menard started with a roaring start to the Community Christian tennis season at the Beaumont West Brook Tournament Friday.
Patel and Menard played Kirbyville’s Jesus Antonio and Daniel Leh in the semi-finals scoring 6-3, 6-4 to take the win. They then went on to play Westbrook’s own Justin Lu and Chris Hill winning 6-1, 6-0.
Patel and Menard hope to play well leading up to a run for a third State championship.
Also on Friday at the West Brook tourney, Orangefield Bobcat Tennis competed well too. The Bobcats had two 4th place finishers Brayden Frye and Brayden Berry In the boys singles division.
In her first ever Tennis tournament freshman Summer Hackbarth had an outstanding day capturing the silver medal 2nd place in the girls varsity singles division .
The Bobcats will compete in the next week at the Lamar tournament.
