Toomey, Lady Bears stifle H-F bats in 6-1 win

FANNETT — The LC-M Lady Bears got the second half of District 22-4A softball play off on the right track as they snagged a 6-1 road victory over the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns Tuesday night.
Renna Toomey had a stellar outing on the hill for the first-place Lady Bears (23-2, 7-0) as she went the distance, scattering four hits while striking out six and walking none.
The Lady Bears scored a pair of runs in the first, third and fifth innings while the Lady Horns got their lone run in the sixth.
Brianna Frenzel was 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in a run. Ally White, Shelby Smith and Madeline Stephenson each had a hit and scored a run while Bailey Frenzel had two RBI.
Th Lady Bears will visit second-place Silsbee Friday.
