A fire at the 1400 block of Cherry in Orange has left a home with thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Orange Fire Department received an alarm of the fire at approximately 12:24 a.m. Tuesday. Within 10 minutes of arriving on the scene, firefighters had the blaze under control. They remained on the scene for two hours until the fire was extinguished.

Firefighters searched for a possible victim.

An alarm woke the resident who was able to gather the children and all safely escaped the flames.

According to a fire report, the fire appeared to start in a pot on the stove.
