Texas’s most popular Halloween candy has changed this year. The Lone Star State ditched it’s Starbursts and returned to its previous love, Reese’s Cups. It’s an understandable move, since Reese’s Cups are objectively divine, and they were the top Halloween candy two years ago, according to candystore.com.
The third most popular candy in Texas is Almond Joy.
More than 1,100,000 pounds of Reese’s Cups are consumed in Texas around Halloween. Last year’s winner, Starbursts, retain the number 2 spot. Texans can proudly stock up on Reese’s Cups or Starburst for trick-or-treaters but might be best to offer them more than a lone starburst.
America’s top 10 Halloween Candy, according to CandyStore is:
- Skittles
- M&M’s
- Snickers
- Reese’s Cups
- Starburst
- Candy Corn
- Hot Tamales
- Hershey’s
- Tootsie Pops
- Jolly Ranchers
This year, it is expected that $2.6 Billion will be spent on trick-or-treating, which is a lot of money.
Candy Store.com gathered 11 years worth of data to determine the top three by state.
While in Louisiana, for the third year running, the favorite candy is Lemonheads. The second was Reese’s Cups with third place went to Blow Pops.
