Frances Marie Perea, 77, of Orange, Texas, passed away on June 27, 2018, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow the service at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Born in Orange, Texas, on October 8, 1940, she was the daughter of Dorris LaVergne and Edna (Sauls) LaVergne. Frances graduated from Stark High School in 1958 and went on to attend the University of Texas and later McNeese State University in Louisiana. She worked as an x-ray technician and system administrator at a hospital in Vinton, Louisiana and then at Orange Memorial Hospital. Frances loved cats and was the former President of the Humane Society of Orange. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and loved playing with kids. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorris and Edna LaVergne; and her brother, Edward Nichols.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ronald Perea; brother, Stephen Nichols, of West Orange; brothers-in-law, Jesse Perea, Darrel Perea, and Bruce Perea; sister-in-law, Gayle Barnes; and numerous other loving family and friends.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church Soup Kitchen at 912 W. Cherry Ave., Orange, TX 77630.
