18-Wheeler Crash Shuts down Interstate 10 in Orange County

PRESS RELEASE – At approximately 6 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a one vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County. The crash involved a truck tractor semi-trailer and occurred near mile marker 860.
Initial reports indicate that the 18-wheeler hauling steel pipes was traveling eastbound on the Interstate. For an unknown reason, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the concrete wall. After the impact, the 18-wheeler caught fire.
At this time, there are no reports of any injuries.
All eastbound traffic lanes are closed. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in the area of the crash.
The roadway will remain closed until crash debris has been removed from the roadway. There is no time estimation as to when the Interstate will reopen to traffic.
