LC-M’s Burke tears up course to win H-F event with a 66

BEAUMONT — Little Cypress-Mauriceville freshman golf standout Jack Burke continues to up the ante as he tore up the course Thursday to capture top medalist at the Hamshire-Fannett Golf Tournament.
Burke not only shattered his own LC-M freshman record but set a new school record by firing an amazing 66.
Burke’s previous best for the season was a 69 as he shattered that Thursday in helping lead the Bears to a third-place team finish.
It marked Burke’s fifth individual win of the season. He was certainly pushed hard by Port Neches-Groves’ Tim Feemster, who fired a 68 of his own. Nederland’s Brendon Marley nabbed third-place with a 70.
PN-G won the team title with a 300. Nederland was second with a 312. LC-M finished third with a 327 and Vidor was fourth with a 371.
LC-M’s Jack Tindel fired a season-best score of 78 followed by teammates Blade Broussard (88), Mason Sterling (95) and Landon Bearden (96).
Orangefield finished with a team score of 393.
The Bobcats were paced by Logan Risinger (87) followed by Blake Love (99), Kyle Pickard (99), Chase Broussard (108), and Geordan Grant (115).
Bridge City fired a team score of 396. The Cardinals were paced by Blaze Montagne (85) followed by Bryce Miller (99), Randy Abate (105), Josh Fulelier (107) and Matthew Murdock (115).
